It is like the comparison between an SUV and a sedan. A Powercat has you much higher out of the water and the lateral stability is far superior, so many people, especially those who might be a little nervous on the water at first, feel much more secure.

The biggest difference of all is the softness of the ride. When it’s a bit choppy most monohulls will slam over a wave with spine-jarring results.

General Description of the PowerCat C650
The C650 Powercat is the Latest Design, built by Allsea Boats and available exclusively from Strayer Marine. It has the maximum amount of space and accommodation for a boat of this size – and it has exceptional handling.
The C650 has a modular fit-out and can be configured as a Pocket Cruiser for weekends on the water, Family Day Tripper, Offshore Fishing Boat or almost anything else that you might imagine.
With its bluff, sharp entry bows it handles smooth or choppy water in comfort and without any of the spine-jarring pounding associated with most monohulls.
The enclosed cabin features a huge bed (larger than Queen Size), a marine toilet and under-berth storage.
The wheelhouse has LED lighting, a four-speaker sound system and can be configured with lounge seating, a dinette, galley with storage drawers, food preparation table and 75L fridge/freezer or just crew seating and lots of fishing space – it’s your choice.
The cockpit has an extended cabin roof for extra shade, rocket launcher, side and aft rod holders (14 in all), and a walkway between the engines to land the big catch or to use as a swim platform with a rear gate that transforms into a boarding ladder.
At the transom there is a sink with bait board and pressure salt and fresh water, a 2 burner cooker and BBQ and a hot water system for a nice warm shower.
The twin engines are fed by 2x fuel tanks with a capacity of 200L each giving a 20kt cruising range of around 230Nm, and twin water tanks hold around 120L of fresh water.
The C650 really does have all you could expect from a trailerable boat in the 3.5T towing category.

A Note about Half-Life Engines
The 115hp Yamahas currently fitted have about 1800hrs. Having been meticulously maintained during their commercial use, these engines are in excellent condition and offer decades of reliable service ahead.
For those seeking a cost-effective entry into boating, these half-life engines provide an excellent starting point. They allow new owners to fully understand their boat’s capabilities and performance, before making any further investments. As they become more acquainted with its performance and their specific requirements, they can then consider upgrading to new or larger engines, ensuring that the boat evolves with their needs. We will be more than happy to assist with any upgrades you might decide on later, in addition, we offer trade-in options for the current engines, making the transition more feasible and reducing any future capital outlay.
However, for clients who prioritize optimal performance and are willing to invest in new engines, we offer flexible options to swap out the existing engines with brand new ones. This customization ensures that every boat we deliver meets the unique needs and preferences of its owner, providing a personalized and satisfying boating experience from day one.
